As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact Canada, more and more gyms and fitness studios are being forced to close their doors. This comes as a major shift in lifestyle for many of us that frequent these establishments and we are left scrambling for an alternative solution in order to stay physically and mentally fit.
We have compiled a list of FREE (yes free!) online resources that you can use in the comforts of your own home. Whether you are looking to break into a sweat or take a much-needed meditational break from your day, we’ve got you covered!
HIIT and Cardio Junkies
The FitnessBlender YouTube channel has a vast array of workouts that require little to no equipment that you can easily do from home! Whether you are looking for a quick 10 minute ab workout or an hour long HIIT session, they offer it all! The best part? They also offer some great nutritional recipe videos that you can follow to stay on track with your diet.
Zen Loving Yogi’s
The amazing team over at Core Power Yoga in Denver has opened up their online subscription classes to the general public for the next few weeks so that everyone can enjoy a full class while they socially distance at home. From a 30 min “Open Mind, Open Body” class to an hour long “Mind & Body Detox” combination, you are sure to find what you are looking for to take that much needed break from life and open up your chakra’s.
Pilates Lovers and Dancing Queens
Blogilates has opened up their entire arsenal of videos to the public for the next few weeks so that people can stay active! They have an amazing range of content that are all cleverly named to keep you inspired. From “Bad Guy Booty” to “Señorita Abs” these classes are a great way to keep your fitness goals in check. They even have a filter where you can search their database based on what part of your body you want to workout and the level of fitness you want to workout at!
They also offer dance tutorial videos as well! We love their Hardcore Heels Dance videos as they give you the high impact workout you are looking for but make you feel like you’ve just gone out for a night of dancing with your girls! Alternatively, if you are a nostalgic musical junkie, their “Grease” inspired cardio dance workout will be exactly what you need to uplift your mood and pump up your heart rate.
Social distancing has been a tough adjustment for everyone, but don’t let it get the best of you! Follow one of these classes, break into a nice sweat and let those feel good endorphins race throughout your body and uplift your mood! Healthy body, healthy mind!
